AN APPROACH TO THE SOCIAL IMPERATIVES OF THE CIVIL-MILITARY RELATIONSHIP IN CHILE
Main Article Content
Abstract
As a result of the expansion of the tasks assigned to the Armed Forces under the new conceptions of security, and the imperatives on them from the political and social point of view reflected in the Defense Policy under the concept of mission areas, it is observed that these tasks are adjacent to several public policies outside the traditional role of the Armed Forces. In order to adequately articulate this model of Civil-Military Relations, a possible guide to manage such relationship in a rational way that optimizes its actions for the State and Society is proposed. Consequently, Civil-Military Relations is proposed around two axes: interaction (collaboration-cooperation) and leadership (civil-military); on which dynamic criteria are applied that consider possible changes in the scenarios, in order to obtain a Civil-Military Relations that optimizes the results for the benefit of the State and society.
