CHILE WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION: SEVEN DECADES IN PEACEKEEPING OPERATIONS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Chile has participated in peacekeeping operations since 1935, before the creation of the United Nations Organization, but its participation has increased since 1991 and stronger from 2004 on occasion of the deployment of a Light Battalion as part of the Multinational Interim Force for Haiti (MIFH) and later with its participation at MINUSTAH. All of this, combined with the change of the nature of the world recently, indicates that Chile will address new futures challenges in the context of the National Defense and Foreign Policy of the State.
