WHITE SUPREMACIST AND EXTREME RIGHT: THREATS TO THE UNITED STATES AND MEXICO

Abstract

White supremacism and the US extreme right are gradually increasing their political presence, number of followers and violent actions that have triggered terrorist attacks with fatal results. These acts of terror are directed at people who do not belong to what these supremacist groups consider to be white people and among these targets are the population of Mexicans who live, visit or work in the United States of America, as well as citizens of that country and Its institutions are vic- tims of racist attacks, hence the aim of this paper was to elucidate the most relevant characteristics of white supremacism as well as its cu- rrent conditions, establishing that these violent groups are a threat to the US government and its democratic order as well as for Mexico and its citizens. This article used recent academic texts and was suppor- ted by the Global Terrorism Database, developed by the University of Maryland, as well as statistical data from the US Federal Bureau Inves- tigation, agency.
