Main Article Content
Abstract
The decade of the 30s of the twentieth century constitutes a time of learning for the development of the diplomatic structures of the main international actors. The knowledge of the procedures and the characters that, behind the scenes, coordinated the foreign policies of the different countries, constitute lessons to apply to the modernization of the Ministries of Foreign Relations in times of crisis. In this sense, the figure of Robert Vansittart, Permanent Undersecretary of the Foreign Office, between 1930 and 1937, a period with notable similarities to the current era, is relevant.
