Abstract

The article studies the proposal of the braziliean classical geopolitical school and the so-called “questão amazônica”. The latter is formed by the following moments: “amazonia legal”, brasilia foundation, tca/ otca. The brazilian geopolitical classical school has the state as its core and sovereignty as the main principle that defines the borders and limits of the amazon. The brazilian state maintains on international controversy with those states and organizations (international community) seeking the internationalization of the amazon.
